Another great find - The National Health Service Corps

The National Health Service Corps
I had not heard of this until today. I am reposting this site information because of a Facebook posting by the UConn Office of National Scholarships on Facebook.

Here is that link:
http://nhsc.hrsa.gov/scholarships/applicationprocess/index.html

Here is a short quote from the FB posting:
"DUE 5/8/12: National Health Service Corps Scholarship Apps:
• The NHSC Scholarship Program removes the burden of overwhelming educational debt and allows program participants the ability to pursue a passion for primary care and serving the underserved.
• For each year of financial support (up to four years) a Scholarship recipient serves one year (minimum two years) in an NHSC-approved site in hi
gh-need urban, rural, and frontier communities across the nation.
• Scholarship support includes tax-free payment of tuition, required fees, other reasonable educational costs, and a monthly living stipend (taxable).
• All students applying to the program must be a U.S. citizen or national and enrolled or accepted in an eligible degree program at a U.S. accredited school in Medicine: MD or DO; Dentistry: DMD or DDS; Nurse Practitioner (Adult, Family, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Psychiatric, or Women’s health); Certified Nurse Midwife; and Physician Assistant."
I just sent this information to someone else who is thinking of a nursing career, and also sharing it on the Nontraditional Students Facebook page too. This is a great opportunity and reminds me of the TeachAmerica and AmericCorps.

Scholarship America - this site looks VERY interesting.

I found a neat website today. It's called Scholarship America. In this website are links for Dollars for Scholars, and also an emergency fund called Dreamkeepers.

This is a worthwhile site. It includes ways for people to volunteer and lists chapters across the country.

It also includes useful pages for students and parents of students to find out about resources, success in school, and much more.

Check it out!

Tips on how to get a visa to come to college in the U.S.

Are you wanting to come to the U.S. to study? Many students do.

This neat posting is from the official US State Department blog. It is full of tips on how to come to study in the U.S. This article is called A View from Behind the Glass: Student Visa Advice from a U.S. Visa Office.

Here is that link:
http://blogs.state.gov/index.php/site/entry/student_visa_advice

I know that students overseas always are looking for an "in" for their official U.S. visas. I have gotten some inquiries about it too, so I'm doubly glad to find this great article.

Let me know how you like it by commenting. Thank you!
