Older student? Sometimes this can help you go to school for less cost.

Age discounts can get you money too. At WKU, you can be 65 and save a lot.

WKU is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. You still have to pay for some things though. No, it's not a scholarship, but you are getting a great deal like you would with a grant or scholarship.

And I'll bet that MAYBE a school near you might offer this too.

WKU explains more about that here at their FAQ page for their Adult Learning Services.

<Question:>"I have heard seniors get free tuition. Is this true?

In accordance with KRS 164.284, Kentucky residents who are 65 years of age or older are granted free tuition for any undergraduate or graduate college class in which they enroll for credit or to audit. Individuals must be 65 years of age or older on or before the first day of the semester in which they enroll. Senior students are still responsible for paying any course fees, such as lab fees, and for purchasing their textbooks. Like all students, seniors must apply for admission to the university, which can be done online, and pay the $40 application fee. For additional information contact Adult Learner Services at (270) 745-3575 or adultservices@wku.edu.

I almost wish I were 65 right now. I have some courses I'd like to take!

Well, maybe I'll have to check out scholarships after all...

WKU offers Bonner Scholarship Program

Great info! I received this information today via an email from the local ALIVE group.

The ALIVE group helps people in the community help others by volunteering and learning about community needs. They are connected to this program, whose full name is the Corella & Bertram F. Bonner Foundation.

There are 80 different schools in the Bonner Scholarship network. Western Kentucky University is one of them.

The Bonner Scholarship Program has its own web page at Western. This sounds like a great opportunity.

Students get help with their schooling, PLUS the students have a chance to give back with community service. I like this!

Here is a list of colleges who are part of the Bonner Network. Is your school listed there?
