U.S. scholarship sites and .org sites are sites full of quality information

Quality searches for scholarships - - where to look first.

Personally, I would look for scholarships first at the school you are thinking of attending. Donors have unique scholarships available for students at their schools, and you may find these at the school by applying and discussing options with an advisor there.

Government scholarships are searched automatically when people fill out a FAFSA form, and also can be found by searching for .gov and org sites.

Some of the biggie government information sites for scholarships and grants are:

Student Aid on the Web

The Nursing Scholarship Program from HRSA

Scholarships, Financial Aid and Student Internships at the Dept. of State site

FedMoney: a free .org site

The Federal Cyber Service scholarship info.

Grants.gov - find and apply for federal grants.

The Fulbright Page

USAJOBS: Working for America

Know more good U.S. government scholarship or grant sites? List them as a comment. Thanks!

If Katie Couric likes it, so do I! Scholarship America - the site.

Katie Couric likes this site. So do I. Check it out. This is the Scholarship America site. Their motto: "Because College Doesn't Happen By Chance."

I love it. This is a very professional-looking site. Katic Couric is donating to this site through profits from her book "Best Advice."

The Scholarship American site has a Dollars for Scholars program, a Guidance section for students and parents, and an International Student section.

This site is definitely worth a look. It has a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator too. That sounds good!

Here is that link again:

Good luck in finding that special scholarship.

Sources for Individual Artists - from the WomenArts site.

The Kentucky Foundation for Women Artist Enrichment Page

Scholarships for Emerging Artists

Grants for Art Students - from the College Scholarships.org site

The Fulbright program also includes artists.

The Oedb site includes some great art college scholarship links.

The American Center for Artists lists links on this page.

Mira's List looks like a good source for scholarships and other opportunities.

Need to get your GED? There are tips and help is on the Your GED site

Get motivated and get your GED! - with the help of this neat site.

Here is a great site I found today, called Your GED. This site even has people you can call to give you a pep talk. Check out the funny photos here of Pep Talk volunteers who are actually celebrities and TV and movie stars!

Just click here to go to the site:  Your GED - http://www.yourged.org/.

This is a great site. It has links to all the GED centers and the photos on the first page are hilarious.

There is a box to put your zip code in, and when you do, the site gives you addresses and phone numbers for GED centers near you. It's really easy. I did not try the Pep Talks, but they sound interesting too. Sometimes people DO need a pep talk. So I think this is a good idea.

Check it out! And leave a comment if you liked the page.

It is sponsored by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. Thanks, Dollar General!
